A former Savannah police officer is facing murder charges. A Chatham County grand jury indicted Ernest Ferguson yesterday in connection to the deadly shooting of Saudi Lee in the summer of 2022. The 31-year-old was shot in the back multiple times during a patrol stop after he was walking in the middle of the street. Ferguson was fired a few months later for a DUI charge.
