People in central Virginia's Campbell Co. don't want what Appalachian Power wants -- a small nuclear reactor to generate electricity. Not in their backyard. Concord VA Supervior Matt Cline called a public meeting Thursday and tells ABC-13 the public doesn't want AEP to build it.....Preview: Hundreds of calls from residents who don't want the nuclear power generator. Appalachian Power will host an informational meeting about it December 5th.

Virginia lawmakers will get a 2nd chance in the next General Assembly to pass a bill that treats suppliers of drug overdoses as murderers. Senate bill 746 would make it felony homicide to sell hard drugs that trigger death by overdose. Basically - causing death accidently while engaged in a crime. It’s a priority for Gov. Youngkin.

Thanksgiving dinner is in the bag -- literally - for 250 Virginians in need. The nonprofit Goochland Cares in Virginia's Piedmont partnering with Performance Food Group to hand out a Thanksgiving feast Friday in Goochland. Services include a food pantry, free clinic, clothing closet, and 11 other services.

Richmond Public Schools is preparing for Trump administration effects on education. Superintendent Dr. Jason Kamras saying Friday the 2 most likely impacts are mass deportations and the end of federally funded school lunches. About 5,000 Richmond school students are Hispanic and some are not documented.
