A Chesterfield Co. Police Officer (just south of Richmond) resigns after charges he had illegal drugs mailed to his home. Chesterfield Co. Police searched the home of 40 yr old former Ofc. Lewis Hagan Friday morning. They found evidence, arrested Hagan, and charged him with intent to distribute an imitation substance. He resigned soon after.

Chesapeake adopts a $1.7 billion budget for fiscal 2026 without a real estate tax increase. The budget includes city raises, implements the Greenbrier Area Plan, and funds enhanced public safety needs and projects. City Council approved it Tuesday after studying it since March. It rejected a proposed 2¢ real estate tax increase.
