Student cellphones might be banned in K-12 schools in Virginia. The Department of Education has a draft policy recommendation schools could use to ban cellphones or other personal communication devices at school. Richmond parent Matt Lano tells CBS-6 he's good with that.....

Virginia is launching a statewide push to help prison and jail inmates return to society. It’s called “Stand Tall, Stand Proud, Succeed Together.” Gov. Youngkin says it’ll bring together state and local government with nonprofits and private companies. He says the key is helping inmates find jobs, safe housing, health care, and substance abuse help.  
 
A top priority for Virginia high school athletes is keeping safe from the heat during outdoor practice. 15 yr old Hopewell HS player Jayvion Taylor died from heat August 5th.
