The holiday travel rush is underway at airports and interstates across Virginia. Triple-A's Holly Dalby says it began Friday and today will be 1 of the busiest. She tells WAVY around 2.9 million Virginians will be driving.....Preview: Dalby reminds drivers to remain patient and attentive by letting passengers deal with the phones and the radio. And don't drive drowsy, take breaks every 2 hours, and airport passengers should arrive early.

Roanoke election officials say Democrat Joe Cobb won the mayor’s race by just 29 votes. That follows a 2-day recount that finished Friday. Democrat Job Cobb beating Republican David Bowers. Bowers says he concedes and will not contest the election results.

A child graduates from a Virginia university with a 4.0 GPA. 15 yr old Yevin Goonatilake [goo-nah-ti-LAY-kuh] says he started community college at 11 and trnsferred to Georgie Mason University in Fairfax at 13.....Preview: He graduated GMU yesterday [Friday] with a major in Computer Science. He's the youngest GMU grad with a perfect GPA. He'll get his Masters in Computer Science next year and then the Ph.D. Oh -- and wants to play cricket for Team USA.

A judge declares 3 Black men lynched by mobs in Virginia in the 1800s and early 1900s to be innocent. They are Charles Thompson, William Thompson, and William Grayson - all lynched in Culpepper Co. in northern Virginia. Charlottesville-based Judge Dale Durrer ruled they they did not receive due process.
