A 27 yr old missing person case is now a homicide investigation. The sheriff in Nelson Co. is investigating the disappearance of 31 yr old Jeffrey Quick in 1998. Investigator Chip Woody tells ABC-13 they discovered additional documents.....Preview: That's several counties to the west of Nelson Co. (near Charlottesville.) Investigators think Quick's body may be in Philpot Lake. They're asking for help from the public and hope to provide closure for the Quick family.

A VCU program that trains future teachers and places them in hard-to-staff schools loses its federal funding. Terry Dozier created the program in 2011 and says now it’s lost most of its $9 million in federal funding. Current students will be able to graduate but the program’s future is uncertain. Federal funding is the lion’s share of its budget.

Bills passed in the state house and senate try to close a loophole for campaign funds spending. The idea is to avoid bogus spending on things like mortgages or club memberships. It sets up a process for politicians to get a formal opinion on whether or not an expenditure is valid.
