A Virginia girl becomes an Eagle Scout Friday at the age of 12. It's 5 yrs since the Boy Scouts started admitting girls. Boy Scouts have until 18 but Julia Haile made it at 12. The girl from Burke (near D-C) tells NBC-4 it feels great.....Preview: Julia says she joined Boy Scouts because "there's more camping stuff and it's more adventurous, in a way." Her Eagle Scout project involved fixing benches at a church. Boy Scouts says only 6% of Boy Scouts become Eagle Scouts.

The Virginia Retirement System trust fund hits a record high of $113.9 billion. But former board member Ed Burton is worried. He's a UVA economist and says the system should invest in indexed funds instead of specialized sectors with a lower return.
