The husband arraigned Friday in the case of a missing Amherst Co. wife. Elsie Wiggington disappeared over a year ago from her home in Amherst Co. (near Lynchburg.) Wednesday police discovered remains that may be hers and are charging husband Frederick Wiggington with concealing a dead body. The man accused of killing 28 yr old Smyth Co. Deputy Hunter Reedy has died in-hospital. Officials say 65 yr old Timothy Goodman died of his wounds early Friday after the shooting a week ago Friday. Another wounded deputy is recovering from the incident that started with a traffic stop.

Nearly 500,000 Virginians in Medicaid have been disenrolled as of this month [August]. It’s now easier because some parts of federal law have expired. A top reason for tossing people out of Medicaid is no longer meeting financial eligibility requirements. That often means an income at or below 80% of federal poverty levels.
