A licensed practical nurse in Rocky Mount was reprimanded on December 5th for allegedly verbally abusing a two-year-old non-verbal patient with a traumatic brain injury. The Virginia Department of Health Professions tells WDBJ that the Michelle Hoffman called the child derogatory names and threatened her with another brain injury. Hoffman admitted to using the offensive language, claiming it was "terms of endearment." As a result, she was reprimanded and required to complete a course on the verbal abuse of patients.
