While the cause of the elevated levels is still unknown, officials have ruled out the middle school as the source. WDBJ reports the school system plans to upgrade the ventilation system and equipment to address the issue of poor indoor air quality as some students continue to report not feeling well. Despite concerns from some parents and a lawsuit seeking to close the school, officials are confident that there is no significant public health threat and intend to keep the school open for the remainder of the year.
