Wrap Script:
The Attorney General's Animal Law Unit says the zoo had previously been raided and nearly 100 animals were seized due to allegations of inadequate care and neglect. During the Monday attempt to transfer a giraffe, the zoo livestreamed the seizure that ended without sucess, pointing out the animal has remained healthy at Natural Bridge Zoo without any care provided by Virginia State or Rockbridge County since October 2024. Zoo officials say the giraffe was becoming overly stressed, which can be dangerous. WSET reports court documents show the county plans to move all three giraffes by the end of May.
