Governor Glenn Youngkin wants the federal government to share more information about recent drone sightings in Virginia. The governor released a statement Saturday saying the state has been asking for information from the federal government, but called the response "insufficient." Youngkin said he was deeply concerned about the sightings, especially given the number of national security and critical infrastructure locations in the Commonwealth.
Police have recaptured a man who escaped from a Danville mental hospital late last week. Hunter Bryce Long the Third reportedly escaped from the Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute on Friday afternoon. He was found at a Dollar General store in the city a few hours later. Long is facing charges for allegedly assaulting a Danville police officer last month.
The bribery trial of former Culpeper County Sheriff Scott Jenkins is expected to wrap up later this week in Charlottesville.
