Addressing learning loss, chronic absenteesim, and mental health challenges for both students and teachers could make the start of a new school year stressful, but it doesn't have to be that way. Chief Executive Officer at Teach For America Elisa Villanueva Beard says students benefit from high impact tutoring - which involves tutoring during the school day 3 to 5 days a week.Preview: She says the issues are interconnected. So, if a child is not at school consistently, the tutoring will not be as effective. As well, Beard her organization offers mental health support and training for teachers so they can be better equipped to support struggling students.
