(Lynchburg, VA) -- A first-term Lynchburg school board member will face the city council during a special meeting today/Thursday about a photo-swapping incident. School Board Chairman Dr. Martin Day says board member Christian DePaul replaced a picture of former Superintendent Dr. Crystal Edwards with a photo of a character from the movie "The Goonies" called 'Sloth'. He then put Interim Superintendent Dr. Ben Copeland's name on it - calling it a joke - but later apologizing to the board Tuesday.Preview: WSET reports that since DePaul was appointed to the position in 2023, the board would have to follow certain procedures to remove him.
