An injured bald eagle found in Newport News has been released back into the wild.
Scott Kimbler reports..Preview: The Wildlife Center of Virginia released the eagle on July 5th, after four months of treatment. The eagle was said to have a high lead levels in its system likely hindering its ability to fly. Officials with the Wildlife Center of Virginia say about three out of every four bald eagles they see have some level of lead in their system. They say hunters and fishers can help decrease the amount of lead found in wildlife by using non-lead ammunition and tackle.
