Senior Director for Security for Sentara Health Stephen Hollowell says, "Almost 75% of workplace violence in the U.S. is committed against healthcare workers." He tells WAVY signs and banners promoting a safe and respectful environment have been placed in all Sentara facilities. The campaign aims to address workplace violence, with a focus on maintaining a safe space for healing. Recent incidents have renewed interest in Sentara’s Workplace Violence Prevention program, which includes initiatives such as visitor badging systems, weapon detection systems, and de-escalation training to enhance safety on campuses.
