>>Virginia Department of Wildlife Says Secure Trash to Keep Bears Away
(Richmond, VA) -- It's bear season in Virginia. Rocio Rivera has more on how to keep bears away from you and your property.Preview: The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources is reminding residents to secure your trash. They say to keep it in a locked shed or inside until it's picked up. Also, remove bird feeders, clean up grills, porches, and decks. And don't leave food, trash, or pet food in your car. The DWR says they received more than 2-thousand calls about bears going through trash and bird feeders last year. They advise Virginians to call the Wildlife Conflict Helpline if you ever come in contact with a wild bear. I'm RR.
