John Rhodes, a Great Falls resident, returned to Virginia and bought five acres of land that included fruit trees and gardens. He decided to try beekeeping after taking a beginner class with the Northern Virginia Bees Association. The Fairfax County Times reports he now has five hives and serves as an outreach coordinator for NVBA. The organization offers classes, mentorship, and monthly meetings to help new beekeepers learn and grow.
