A Virginia Department of Transportation meeting Monday night saw about 90 residents join the virtual event. Many expressed concern that the expansion project will not solve ongoing traffic issues. Others complained about rough roads, construction issues, and problematic intersections. One of the larger issues is that while the new lanes will extend to the American Legion Bridge, Maryland's efforts to build a new span are still in the design and planning stages, and funding has not been appropriated for that project.
