A Virginia state park is being recognized for having one of the best lakeside beaches in the U.S. Smith Mountain Lake State Park is one of 20 nominees for a USA Today Ten Best Award in that category. USA Today writers say the lake immerses visitors into the idyllic beauty of the Roanoke Region and its native flora and fauna. Online voting for the award will continue through June 2nd.
