Officials say the charges included felonies related to child care and neglect, as well as misdemeanor counts of failure to secure medical attention for a child. Attorneys say the decision not to prosecute these charges was made in the best interest of two minor children, one of whom would have been the primary witness in the case. WAVY reports both children are still undergoing therapy. The charges were separate from the Codi murder case and stemmed from when Codi was first reported missing.
