The TPB awarded a total of $760-thousand dollars in grant funding to nine local planning projects in Northern Virginia, with $440-thousand dollars going towards advancing planning and preliminary engineering efforts for mixed-use development and transit access. Patch dot com reports the project aims to improve pedestrian safety and provide a direct connection to the Tysons Metrorail Station's north entrance and the future Leesburg Pike Trail. In total, 32 projects have been funded by the program since its launch in 2020, totaling over $2.1 million to promote safer road user behavior and collaboration across jurisdictions.
