Williamsburg/James City County Schools was awarded $24,600, while Virginia Beach City Public Schools received $36,000 to support and expand non-congregate breakfast programs. The initiative, part of a larger $201,000 effort benefiting 10 school districts in Virginia, aims to ensure students are better prepared for success each day by improving breakfast options. 13News Now reports the improvements may include grab-and-go meals, second-chance breakfast models, and bringing breakfast directly to the classroom, with a focus on providing more "hot" options.
