(Lynchburg, VA) -- A Lynchburg 16-year-old accused in his sister's murder will be tried as an adult. Sara Bartlett has the story.Preview: Voicer Script:
A court found probable cause that the teen should be tried as an adult for the death of his sister, 12-year-old Malayshia Solomon, last year. WSET-TV reports that he has ten days to appeal the decision. He's facing involuntary manslaughter charges and has a grand jury hearing is schedule in May. Solomon's mother, Karita Winston, has also been charged in her daughter's death. Authorities say Solomon died in her home from a gunshot wound in February 2023. Winston is facing charges of child abuse and endangerment and disregard for human life. Her jury trial is set for December.
