(Blacksburg, VA) -- Blacksburg Public Works is conducting a town-wide collection of winter storm-related brush pickup, with crews working in both the Northwest and Southwest quadrants over the next two and a half weeks. Joe Murano has the details.Preview: Voicer Script:
The amount of storm debris across the 19-square miles of town is significant, with more than 531 tons of brush already collected from the Southeast and Northeast quadrants since February. NRV News dot com reports crews are working daily to complete pickups in the remaining quadrants and expect to exceed 1000 tons of brush collected by the end of the pickup. Beginning April 7, Public Works will start another town-wide collection of brush as part of the annual Spring Cleanup. Residents in the Northwest quadrant should have debris to the curb by 7:30am on that Monday for pickup.
