The Central Virginia Waste Management Authority is launching a "Bucks for Boxes" cardboard box recycling contest in honor of American Recycles Day on Nov. 15. Residents who recycle cardboard boxes correctly have a chance to win $100 cash each week from Nov. 15 to Jan. 10. To be eligible, WRIC reports participants must ensure that the boxes are clean, dry, empty, flattened, and placed inside the curbside or drop-off container. The contest is open to residential recyclers in specific areas of Central Virginia, and winners will be chosen at random. Businesses and workplaces are not eligible to participate in the contest.
