Governor Youngkin sent more than 200 amendments to the state budget back to the General Assembly yesterday. The governor was okay with a proposal to give tax rebates to Virginians and provide bonuses to teachers and state employees. But he also wants lawmakers to approve 25-million dollars for a scholarship program to help low-income Virginians go to private schools. He also wants an amendment to strip funding from any law enforcement agency that refuses to cooperate with federal immigration agencies.
