Alexandria police say thirty-seven-year-old Carlas Carter has been placed on leave after being charged in connection to a deadly shooting in Oxon Hill last week. WTOP reports Carter ferried students at Alexandria City High and John Adams Elementary to school before he was arrested. He and 26-year-old Mary Ashby of Alexandria are accused of gunning down 26-year-old Tamara Jones of DC, but police have yet to offer a possible motive.
