(Newport News, VA) -- A pro-Palestinian protest on the campus of Christopher Newport University has ended abruptly. Rocio Rivera has more on the demonstration.Preview: Student protesters were hit with sprinklers last night as they gathered on the Great Lawn at the university. Campus officials then asked them to leave because the protest was not registered with the school. The students then moved to the sidewalk on Warwick Blvd where they stood and chanted for about 2 hours. But this protest ended very differently than many of the other pro-Palestinian protests going on around the country. Protesters have been arrested at various demostrations around Virginia at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg and in Blacksburg at Virginia Tech. Gov. Youngking said Sunday that the commonwealth will permit peaceful protests, but will not tolerate intimidation and encampments on college campuses. I'm RR.
