Fairfax Radiological Consultants has agreed to pay nearly $3 million dollars to settle federal False Claims Act allegations for falsely reporting its payroll costs to receive full forgiveness of a $6.8 million Paycheck Protection Program loan. The program offered loans to eligible small businesses for economic relief during the COVID-19 pandemic. FRC applied for the program in April 2020, but had less than 100 employees at the time. Federal prosecutors alleged that FRC misrepresented eligible payroll costs for 98 employees in its loan forgiveness application, resulting in full forgiveness of the loan. The company now agreeing to pay the settlement.
