UVA researcher Natasha Sheybani says her groundbreaking study focuses on using focused sound waves to enhance the body's immune system's ability to fight breast cancer. WDBJ reports the grant money will allow her to pursue her bold vision of re-imagining long-term cancer survivorship. Sheybani, who began her PhD at 19 and became a UVA faculty member at 24, is honored to have a team of women in her lab, including breast cancer survivors. The grant will take effect in September 2025.
