The Johnny CASA 5K/5 Miler is set to take place this Saturday with proceeds benefiting the Southern Virginia Child Advocacy Center. The organization provides support to children affected by various forms of violence and neglect, assisting hundreds of families annually. WSLS reports the superhero-themed event hopes to host about 270 runners. The center's Executive Officer says they serve children and caregivers in Rocky Mount, Martinsville, Danville, as well as Franklin, Patrick, Henry, and Pittsylvania Counties.
