(Roanoke, VA) -- More Virginia children are struggling with mental health challenges. Thomas Cage with more.Preview: Voicer Script:
Family Service of the Roanoke Valley has reported an increase in young people seeking mental health services, with children as young as three years old requiring assistance. This news follows the tragic suicide of a 10-year-old girl who was a victim of bullying. The organization tells WSLS it is currently facing a waitlist of 50 children. Concerns over cyberbullying and the political climate are the potential driving force behind the increase in need, with advice for parents to monitor their children's online activities and behavior closely. Additionally, the organization is seeing a rise in young adults seeking support for issues such as homelessness, drug use, and unemployment.
