The Bedford Fire Department responded to the incident at Forest Level Baptist Church, finding smoke, fire, and significant damage to the building. Fire Marshall Leo George tells WDBJ he believes an LP gas explosion caused damage Monday night. Britannica defines LP gas as liquified petroleum and adds that the liquid is a flammable hydrocarbon gas made up of a mixture of hydrocarbons, propene, propane, butene, and butane. Members of the church say, "For now, our focus will be on healing, rebuilding, & continuing to trust in God.”
