Local churches, including Restoration Church in Wytheville, have been actively involved in Hurricane Helene relief efforts. Restoration Church provided $10,000 worth of aid, distributing over 1,200 bottles of water and offering financial assistance to community members affected by the storm. WDBJ reports the church also collected personal hygiene items and delivered essential goods to areas in Virginia and North Carolina. Pastor Jeremy Farley says he's proud of their efforts and says it is amazing what a significant difference even a small amount of help can make in people's lives. Despite the devastation caused by the storm, the Wythe County community continues to provide support to those in need.
