The board approved a resolution yesterday requiring the state's 23 community colleges to follow an executive order issued earlier this year by President Trump. The resolution also changes the VCCS strategic plan to eliminate two diversity initiatives and eliminates the Advisory Council on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Culture. The chancellor of the system released a statement saying Virginia's community colleges remain "laser-focused" on student success.
