If you're planning on surfing the web for good deals today, beware that scammers will be online, too.
Scott Kimbler reports....Preview: Today is Cyber Monday, and the Better Business Bureau is asking shoppers to be vigilant. Barry Moore is President and CEO of the Central Virginia BBB, and he says the internet is full of criminals making a lot of money by hurting you and your family. He says one thing to look out for is deep discounts that seem too good to be true. Moore says if a hard-to-find item is suddenly available for just a quarter of the price, run, don't walk, away. Another way to spot a fake is spelling errors in the website's URL or in the product descriptions. Also, always pay with a credit card. Moore tells 8News take your time, look at the vendor, and maybe buy direct.
