Governor Youngkin vetoed the measure crafted by Delegate Josh Thomas that would have required companies looking to build new data centers in Virginia to complete site assessments to examine how their buildings would affect nearby resources, historic sites and neighborhoods. Youngkin said the bill creates extra red tape by imposing a one-size-fits-all approach on communities that are best positioned to make their own decisions.
