A recent survey conducted by the American Staffing Association and The Harris Poll found that 40% of American workers feel that their current debt is influencing their career decisions. The survey revealed that 73% of U.S. workers have debt, with 40% stating that it is impacting their career choices. The Federal Reserve Bank of New York also reported a rise in various types of debt in the second quarter of 2024. Athens CEO dot com reports Richard Wahlquist, CEO of the American Staffing Association, says the survey also found that 28% of U.S. workers are concerned about potential layoffs before the end of the year, with younger workers expressing higher levels of job security anxiety compared to Baby Boomers.
