The Patriot/The Southwest Times shared the news Friday through a statement from the Smyth [[smith]] County Republican. The Cardinal News reports that Republican Adam Tolbert and Democrat Jamie Ralston Hendry were listed as candidates to represent the 46th District in the House of Delegates by Friday afternoon. That district includes Grayson County, Smyth County, Wythe County and part of Pulaski County. Arnold says the driving factor in his decision is his wife’s struggle with long COVID and the need to support his family through her illness.
