The governor gave his final State of the Commonwealth speech to a joint session of the General Assembly yesterday. Youngkin outlined his desire for more tax relief and well as additional spending for education, including scholarships to let more students attend private schools. Democratic House Speaker Don Scott said any proposal to cut the car tax is unlikely to pass during the session. Senate Finance Committee Chair Louise Lucas also plans to oppose any measure that would use taxpayer dollars for private school vouchers.
