The company held a community meeting yesterday where the spokesperson explained that the train was parked in a railyard due to issues with the locomotive. He said the train was "tied down improperly," allowing it to start rolling backward. Safety devices designed to derail the train deployed, knocking several railcars into a concrete barrier and damaging several nearby garages. The spokesman apologized for the damage and said the derail devices would be relocated to prevent future problems.
