A recent study by the Virginia Spirits Board shows that in 2022, the state had 81 licensed distilleries producing 4.37 million gallons of distilled products. Scott Harris, Virginia Spirits Board chairman, says the industry generated over $275.9 million in revenues and supported 3,081 jobs. Visitors to Virginia's distilleries also spent an additional $63.5 million on local businesses, contributing to the industry's widespread economic impact. WFXR reports the study highlighted the role of distilleries in supporting local farmers and their contribution of over $10.3 million dollars in revenues.
