(Chesapeake, VA) -- The Dollar Tree headquarters in Chesapeake is laying off dozens of employees. Rocio Rivera has details.Preview: The company will be laying off around 54 employees. Back in March, Dollar Tree reported they would be closing almost 1-thousand stores after a major drop in business. Fourth quarter losses cemented that plan which included Family Dollar stores the company aquired for $ 8 billion dollars after a bidding war in 2015. The Chesapeake headquarters released a statement saying employees affected have been offered support including severance, COBRA medical coverage, career resources and Emotional Wellbeing Solutions. The company also says the layoffs will continue in the future. They plan to close 600 current Family Dollar stores by the end of the year. I'm RR.
