Nineteen-year-old Campbell Fortune was originally charged with negligent homicide after the 2023 crash. Investigators said Campbell was the designated driver of a car carrying a group of JMU students to a strip club in West Virginia. The car crashed on the way back to the university and Fortune was charged with multiple counts of negligent homicide. Prosecutors in Hardy County, West Virginia allowed Fortune to plead guilty recently to one count of negligent homicide and one count of speeding. He'll be sentenced on April 22nd
