Summer Cunningham was able to walk out of the Amherst County Courthouse a free woman after her charges were dropped yesterday. The local Commonwealth's Attorney says Summer's father, Joseph, was trying to catch his wife cheating when the incident turned deadly. The body of Kevin Hartless was found in a remote area of the George Washington National Forest in January of last year. Summer was with her dad that day, but her attorney claims she did nothing wrong. Her mother, Jennifer, told ABC13 News that her daughter was in the wrong place at the wrong time...Preview: Meanwhile, Joseph pleaded guilty to second-degree murder earlier this year. His sentencing is scheduled to take place next month.
