(Richmond, VA) -- A drought watch in Virginia has been expanded to 38 counties. Rocio Rivera has more.Preview: The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality says above average temps and low rainfall have led to decreases in soil moisture resulting in a drought. They say ground water levels in most of the Commonwealth also remain low and continue to show seasonal declines. The drought watch now affects the Eastern Shore, Northern Coastal Plain, Norhtern Virginia, Shenandoah, Southesast Virginia, and York-James. The DEQ also says the eight to 14-day weather forecast shows above normal temperatures and chances of slightly below average rain. I'm RR.
