(Danville, VA) -- Early voting starts this week in Virginia. Rocio Rivera reports.Preview: Early voting starts Friday, but registrars in some parts of Virginia are skeptical it will help increase voter turnout. Danville Registrar Peggy Petty tells WSET she predicts about 10 to 20 percent of voters will show up early. Early voting started in 2020 during the Covid-19 pademic. So election officials say it's hard to tell if early voting will help since we're not in the midst of covid this election. Absentee ballots are also scheduled to be sent out Friday. The Registrar's office says this year in Danville they're planning to send out around 14-hundred. I'm RR.
