(Washington, DC) -- The Chesapeake Bay Trust is sending thousands of dollars to two Virginia groups to fund projects to improve the environment. Richard Stelling reports.Preview: Voicer Script:
The nonprofit announced more than a million dollars in grants to organizations in five states and the District of Columbia earlier this week. Virginia's Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay will receive 175-thousand dollars for a project to improve the stormwater footprint at Blackwell Park in Richmond. The group will also get 35-thousand dollars for a project to address stormwater runoff at Amelia Street School in Richmond. Virginia Community Voice will also get 50-thousand dollars to maintain and enhance the Oak Grove Community gardens in South Richmond.
