(Waynesboro, VA) -- Many residents spent the weekend without power and are still evaluating the damage left behind after Hurricane Helene hit the Shenandoah Valley. Liz Kennedy with more.Preview: Voicer Script:
Two tornadoes -- an EF2 and EF1 -- destroyed parts of Pittsylvania and Bedford Counties Friday. Officials say the hardest-hit area was eastern Augusta County. Meanwhile, in Waynesboro resident Byron Terrell tells WHSV-TV that as soon as the worst parts of the storm moved out of the county, "Everybody in the area was checking on each other, making sure everything was okay." Thankfully, no injuries or deaths have been reported.
